🌳 Planting trees with students! 🌳

Our last planting action in 2025 took place in mid-November, at Uetikon am See, together with an engaged group of students and teachers from the Inter-Community School Zurich.
During the afternoon, we planted 18 native trees and bushes in a private residential property, to create a more diverse transition zone between the existing nature-oriented garden and the nearby edge of the forest, mostly made of beech trees (Fagus sylvatica). The owner will be responsible for the upkeep of the new plants.
Besides the planting, the students could also learn how to create an “habitat pile” with branches and understand first-hand the value of a diverse environment with plenty of food and shelter areas for different species of birds, insects and other animals – all this without affecting the current usage.
We really appreciated the dedication and interest of the students and the accompanying teachers 🤩. A big thank you to all the participants! 🙏
