Oceanium

Oceánium runs the largest mangrove restoration program worldwide, in Senegal, where 45,000 hectares of its mangroves – a quarter of the total surface area – have been lost since the 70s.

Restoring the mangroves in Senegal provides a natural protection against floods, a carbon sink, a natural nursery for many species (some consumed by the local population), and protects agricultural fields further inland by reducing the entry of saline water.

A donation or yearly membership sponsors our work - in Switzerland and abroad - and a minimum number of trees, planted together with our network partners.

What's included?

As a reference, a 100 CHF donation can cover between 20 and 300 trees, depending on project partner. This amount covers planting, monitoring and administration costs.

Donations to REFORESTATION WORLD are tax deductible within Switzerland, following the official tax-exemption granted by the authorities of the Canton of Zurich.
