Plan Vivo provides an accessible certification scheme for smallholder- and community-based projects focused on sustainable land use, allowing them to be financed via payments for ecosystem services (PES) programmes.

The Plan Vivo Standard is a tried and tested certification framework for projects supporting the rural poor with natural resource management, using payments for ecosystem services. It includes requirements and processes to ensure Plan Vivo projects benefit livelihoods, ecosystems and provide ethical and fairly traded climate services.

The Plan Vivo Standard certifies the implementation of project activities that enhance ecosystem services and allow communities to formally recognise and quantify carbon sequestration, biodiversity or watershed protection.

A donation or yearly membership sponsors our work - in Switzerland and abroad - and a minimum number of trees, planted together with our network partners.

What's included?

As a reference, a 100 CHF donation can cover between 20 and 300 trees, depending on project partner. This amount covers planting, monitoring and administration costs.

Donations to REFORESTATION WORLD are tax deductible within Switzerland, following the official tax-exemption granted by the authorities of the Canton of Zurich.

Is your organisation involved in reforestation or forest ecosystem restoration? Do you have an active, ongoing project that you would like to show to others and can provide information about it? Then we would like to hear from you!

The process has no costs involved but involves a detailed review by our team. If the assessment is positive, your organisation will be added to our website as a network member and becomes eligible for support by Reforestation World.
