Trees in the cities have many important roles. In this event, we discuss and share practical examples of how we can integrate larger plants in our private city gardens, boosting biodiversity and our enjoyment, without affecting the property value and future uses.
We’ll have the Gesellschaft für Natur- und Vogelschutz Uster (GNVU) as guest speaker, a local organisation responsible for the “Naturnahe Gärten des Jahres” award in Uster.
The event will be conducted in German.
- Age: open to all
- Costs: free entrance
- Registration: not required, but helps us with organisation. Feel free to show up spontaneously.

How to draw trees? In this workshop, led by illustrator and art teacher Angela Melody Kummer, you’ll learn how to really see and draw different types of trees.
We’ll meet at the library and walk to the Stadtpark Uster, where we will draw the local trees and landscape under Angela’s guidance.
In the first part, we work in black and white, using graphite to capture their shapes and volumes. In the second part, we experiment with watercolor and oil pastels. Whether based on a template or from your imagination: bring your tree to life with color!
* In case of bad weather or not enough participants, the workshop will be held on Saturday 07.09.24.
