Selah: Water from Stone

A fascinating example of landscape restoration. Almost 50 years ago, David Bamberger used his fortune to purchase 5,500 acres of overgrazed land in the Texas Hill Country. Planting grasses to soak in rains and fill hillside aquifers, Bamberger devoted the rest of his life to restoring the degraded landscape. Today, the land has been restored to its original habitat and boasts enormous biodiversity.

Deforestation: the issue and the causes

The amount and type of forest cover has changed over time, both for natural and man-made reasons. In which way are people affecting forest ecosystems and are there any signs of recovery?

A donation or yearly membership sponsors our work - in Switzerland and abroad - and a minimum number of trees, planted together with our network partners.

What's included?

As a reference, a 100 CHF donation can cover between 20 and 300 trees, depending on project partner. This amount covers planting, monitoring and administration costs.

Donations to REFORESTATION WORLD are tax deductible within Switzerland, following the official tax-exemption granted by the authorities of the Canton of Zurich.
