Final results for 2024

Planting, Restoration

Our final funding round in 2024 covered 7 of our partners’ projects.
Here’s a summary of the results.

We support different forest restoration approaches around the globe:

6’130 new trees to be planted and cared for in the first years, integrated in ongoing projects:
– An agro-forestry project with local farmers in southern India, with our partner SEEDS;
– Reforestation of the Mata Atlântica rainforest in Brasil, with the Grupo Natureza Bela;
– Community restoration of native forests in northern Australia with Brettacorp, in Thailand with Conserve Natural Foundation, and in Ethiopia with the Green Ethiopia Foundation.
An additional 2,5ha of area in Madagascar devoted to Farmer-Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR), as part of a larger project by ADESolaire.
Find out why FMNR is such an impactful approach, in our interview with Tony Rinaudo, winner of the Alternative Nobel Prize.
A new project to train and implement FMNR techniques with several communities in Cameroon. We’re very excited about this one!
With our seed funding, our local partner Ecological Balance will train local leading farmers in these techniques and assist in deploying them in their lands, as a direct example for their own communities. Next to the capacity-building workshops and information sessions, they will also run broader sensitization actions via radio and in group meetings, to spread the word and interest.

Meanwhile, in Switzerland:

Our events reached an additional 800 people, from students to company employees.
We combined art and urban green with an Urban Sketch Walk, conducted presentations and excursions on nature gardens and city trees, and continued our public exhibitions with activities for families and the general public.
We conducted 2 new planting actions with volunteers, as part of our Make it Greener! project.
We added 100 native trees and shrubs in the transition between forests and nearby urban areas and agricultural fields, to increase the local biodiversity and resilience.
